Iconoclast -- New Aurora -- Defense
Defense of New Aurora is divided into two main categories. Defense from foreign enemies is handled by the Department of Defense, and defense from domestic criminals is handled by the Aurora Security Agency.
The Department of Defense (DOD) provides for the safekeeping and defense of the city from any outside threat. It maintains a standing air-land force through recruitment and its training program conducted in the military sector, and provides protection for all high-threat city assets outside the dome. The DOD is responsible in seeing that the proud New Auroran tradition as a free city will be guaranteed. The Auroran Military Forces, the uniformed component of the DOD, is open to highly motivated citizens over age 16 who desire to better themselves by serving this respected and elite force. Contact the recruitment office nearest you for details, or send e-mail to The DOD.
The Auroran Security Agency is the corporate law enforcement agency contracted by the city of New Aurora to enforce public laws and maintain civil order within city limits. To this end the ASA can be classified as a police department, if not in the traditional sense, at least in a literal one. ASA has been granted the full backing of the city's governing body to provide protection and security enforcement operations using any reasonable means. The ASA maintains an impressive force of highly trained, professional law enforcement officers, and is one of the key reasons New Aurora's crime rate stays below five percent. Citizens over age 18 who are interested in pursuing a career in the ASA should contact the local ASA recruiting station or satellite office, or send e-mail to The ASA.
