While at first glance this weapon appears to be some sort of a large, narrow
sponge, the Macerator is actually an illegal and feared weapon. Originating
in the black market arms world, the Macerator continues to surface around
the globe despite the best efforts of police to stop it.
The principle behind this weapon is based on biotechnology developed for the
diet pill market turned horribly bad. Flesh-eating enzymes contained within
small sacs inside the spongy material are released when a hard blow ruptures
the tiny containers, releasing the enzyme onto the victim. The ensuing
dissolution of skin need not be described. The effect causes extreme pain
and leaves behind terrible disfigurement. While it is possible to kill with
a Macerator, it would be an extremely long, drawn out process.
Its popularity with pimps, gang enforcers, and third world interrogators
have left a legacy of suffering that international security forces deal with
violently. Despite the risk, the perverse power of the Macerator keeps it
moving from black market shelves.

Originally designed for police use, the expandable baton made an appearance
in the late 20th century. Constructed from sections of hollow metal tubing
with a welded pinhead-style tip, the expandable baton (depending on model)
is only 7-9 inches (18-23cm) collapsed, but extends with a flick and locks
out to a length of 21-27 inches (53-69cm). Intended as a non-lethal striking
compliance tool, the baton is capable of breaking bone or killing if used
improperly against vital areas of the body or baton-to-bone. No longer used
by mainstream police units, the batons still sells well to private security
officers who enjoy the intimidation factor that the baton creates as it
snaps open or those whose employers feel uncomfortable with firearms.
