By emitting strobed light at specially modulated frequencies, the NL-71
Optical Suppression Gun can induce physiological reactions in those who
observe the flashes. In most people, the gun immediately produces symptoms
including severe nausea, disorientation, and sometimes unconciousness. No
long term effects are left behind, though the sensation of discomfort can
last for hours. Exception: In rare cases, these emissions can induce fatal
seizures, especially amongst diabetics or the deranged.
The NL-71 operates on a reusable battery pack which will last through
several months of continuous use before it needs to be recharged. The
strobe, however, may need replacement after only a few hours of use, due to
the precise tuning needed to induce effect. Replacement strobe units can be
purchased by police, security, or military agencies for approximately C250.

Essentially a small box with a powerful wide-frequency speaker, the SK-3000
is specially tuned to produce high-volume variations in sound that result in
confusion, pain, queasiness, and occasionally, panic or intense fear. The
strength of the effects of the SK-3000 vary in proportion to the distance of
the subject from the unit, up to a maximum effective range of about 25 yards
(23 meters).
The nature of the sound is such that normal hearing protection only slightly
reduces the range of the device. Only specially designed sound cancellation
sets will render the device harmless, available to police and military users
with the unit itself.
The Dispersion Unit moves and is operated by radio control within line of
sight. The unit has effectively unlimited operation time, using only a small
power cell that is recharged kinetically.

The M244 EMP Grenade is a multi-purpose anti-electronic grenade used by the
Americorp military and Auroran Military Forces (AMF). Generating an Electro-
Magnetic Pulse (EMP) effect of very high magnitude, the M244 is designed to
severely overload equipment or weapon systems that rely on electronic
components or circuitry and cause a short-circuit effect, disabling them.
The power of the pulse is settable using a knob on the grenade itself that
adjusts the level by the approximate range of effectiveness.
The grenade itself does not detonate explosively, and is not dangerous to
living tissue. However, implants, artificial organs, and other
electronically- regulated organic devices can be damaged by an EMP "blast."
Unshielded electronics and circuitry within the blast radius will be
irreparably damaged.

The OPT-250 is a rifle-like laser designed to cause blindness by damaging
the retina and cornea of the eye. The laser's frequency and power are
effective up to about 1500 yards (1350m) on a cool, clear day. Other weather
conditions will greatly affect this range, as slight shifts along the
spectrum and loss of intensity will occur with any haze or distortion in the
air.
An effective exposure to natural, unprotected eyes will cause immediate
blindness. The laser will not cause immediate harm to skin, equipment, or
clothing, though long-term problems such as skin disease and cancer are
associated with exposure to this frequency of laser.
Sunglasses or other optics which do not specially screen the laser's
frequencies will not protect the wearer, though they may slightly reduce the
effective range. Night vision devices will not transmit the laser pulse, but
the optics in them may be damaged by lengthy exposure to the beam.
Modern regenerative and implant surgical techniques can repair blindness
caused by this device, though the treatment is costly.
The laser operates on an internal battery pack, which can provide about 20
hours of continuous operation, or about 5000 pulses. The battery pack is
rechargeable, but is designed to be changed out quickly with a fresh pack.
The pack takes approximately eight hours to recharge fully.

Dispenser is a non-lethal multipurpose tool designed for suppressive uses,
such as riot control, barricade or obstacle employment, or capture and
containment. The device dispenses a heavy stream of various types of
chemical foam over adjustable distances up to 50 feet (15 meters).
Foam types include sticky foam, which produces a fly-trap like adhesive
capable of stopping and bonding even a moving vehicle to the spot; slippery
foam, which completely eliminates traction on a surface; and hard foam,
which sprays like a liquid but rapidly hardens to the consistency of
concrete. The full reuseable canister will cover an area of about 1500
square feet (135 square meters). All three foams are available in four
colors: black, drab green, and fluorescent orange or yellow. A special
non-toxic solvent breaks down all three foam types.

This gun is designed specifically for riot control, creating a fogging
stream of chemical agent. Two main types of agents are used with the M221,
either Riot Gas (chemical irritant) or Knockout Gas (causes unconciousness).
The agent is atomized and dispersed by a pump within the gun that operates
on a long-life rechargeable battery (discharges approximately six
canisters). The fogged agent will disperse in a fairly predictable cloud for
approximately 25 feet (7.6m) in front of the gun. Sale or possession of this
gun is restricted to law enforcement and military police personnel by
international law.
