These small metal star-shaped blades are most often associated with bad
martial arts action films, explaining their enormous popularity. Though
these throwing weapons are romanticized for their supposed deadliness, in
actuality they are better at being an annoyance (though a painful one) to
their target. A great deal of skill must be developed to throw them with any
accuracy, and even then their effectiveness is limited - but they sure look
cool.
